As I shared yesterday, what is happening is starting to really sink in. The world has dramatically changed. Many of our lives have been upended. Many are suffering. Many are anxious and afraid. And - from what we are being told - it is likely to get worse before it gets better.

Like you, I had heard all those things. I was processing them. But I was largely functioning in an executive sort of way. There was work to be done. Things to sort out. Protocols to put in place. Decisions to be made. New skills to be learned (who knew I'd be uploading videos).

Oh there were moments when my emotions caught up with me - in fact it's sort of how the week began with the invitation to lament. But . . . the tears have come now. The lamenting. The grieving. I am not afraid to admit it - but I have come to the end of myself. I'm a slow learner that way. But here I am. Crying out to God. Leaning hard on Jesus. I love that we get the kind of honesty in the Bible that Psalm 69 provides. And so I pray a Psalm 69 prayer. And my trust is strengthened. My heart is buoyed for another day. "My daily bread" is what I need - grace for today.

May God continue to buoy your heart as you fall into His arms and cry out to Him.

In the video below I share more on Psalm 69 and extend two invitations. Please consider joining in prayer in these ways -

1. Tomorrow – Saturday March 28 – The National House of Prayer is inviting Christians to participate in a day of prayer for our nation – during this time of crisis as we battle the deadly virus of COVID-19.

This will be done online from 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (Pacific time). You can join this at any time during the day. If you are able, you are invited to include fasting on this day to fully give yourself to pray for our nation.

You can find details online at www.nationaldayofprayer.ca

2. This coming Monday – March 30 – we will be having an online prayer meeting as a Church for God's peace and direction during this time of Covid-19. We will come together at 8:00 p.m. for an online prayer meeting via Zoom. Details to connect are on our website events page – you can join the prayer meeting by computer or by phone. Please contact Kathy Smith or me if you have any questions about how to join.

At this first meeting we will spend some time listening to God, to each other, and praying as God leads us. We will also discuss how often people want to meet and what is the best time to do so. We hope many of you will join us. We will pray between 30-60 minutes, as God leads us. May God give you his peace, his shalom, during this time of uncertainty and unexpected crisis.

We look forward to coming together to pray in this way.
