Revelation 4: 8-11 - "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come." Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to recieve glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being."
Whenever I read this portion of scripture, I come to the realization of just how small I am and how big God is. When I look to the stars and really give it some thought, I am left with this overwhelming sense of gratitude. The creator of all these stars, knows me and more than that, loves me. Boom.
My reflection for today is, when you are starting to feel disappointment, frustration, discouragement or so many other emotions that are bound to come up in our lives, especially while in this new normal, what is your response? How do you respond to tough circumstances?
For me, I like to go for a drive or a walk and I listen to a song. That song leads me to the above portion of scripture where I again realize God is so much bigger than my circumstance. The song I listen to is called, "With Everything." That song lifts my head. And when I sing it in the car, I yell it. I'll be in my car, I'll crank the volume and I'll sing as loud as I can. This is my fight song. This is my fight scripture. No matter what I face, this continues to lift my head. It points me to my Savior.
Do you have a fight song? Do you have some scripture that you use to fight disappointment and discouragement?
I would encourage you to listen to mine. It's the song linked below.
I encourage you to hope. To fight. To give everything to the creator of the heavens who is worthy. Who was, and is, and is to come.
Love you church.
